Grace Jones Performs Topless, Kelis Rocks Her Baby Bump & Lenny Kravitz Manhood Behaves On The Afropunk Stage!

A weekend filled of vibrant arts, edgy fashion and fun filled musical appearances,  Afropunk instantly became a total smash this weekend. Afropunk is not only, bringing a massive culturally  diverse group of people  together to enjoy some good music; but the energy of Afropunk brought an atmosphere of fun and positive vibes with an electifying stage production to give the Afropunk fans a full concert experience right in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.

During the 3 day event, many came from near and far to enjoy some of their favorites acts such as Grace Jones, Kelis, Lenny Kravitz, Lauren Hill, Lion Babe, Gary Clark Jr, Suicidal Tendencies, SZA, Thundercat, DJ Berverly Bond, Kimberly Nicole , Oshun and many other talented acts. Of course, while many anticipated their favorite performers to make their appearances, the ultimate fan favorite and highly anticipated moment was for the Grace Jones experience. The 67yr old Jamaican beauty not only graced the stage, but she performed topless and adorned with full body paint; which made the wait all worth while. So in my personal opinion, she was the true symbolization of Afropunk.

Along with the anticipated moments in between the musical sets, many also loved kelis’s performance as she made a first time appearance with her beautiful baby bump; while she rocked out on stage. Lenny Kravitz gave a spectacular performance and killed it, but of course that was without the special appearance of his manhood this time around. Lauren Hill performed some of our favorite hits from the “Miseducation” album; and last but not least one of the top 12 finalist from the voice, Kimberly Nichole, gave an electrifying performance in a true edgy rock ballerina style.
