According to MCU Exchange Selma director Ava DuVernay is reportedly in talks to direct Marvel’s Black Panther movie, which is die out on July 6, 2018. If she is hired Ava would be the first black and first female director to direct a Marvel superhero movie.

Marvel has been trying to increase diversity in their movies, casting Idris Elba in Thor and Michael B Jordan in Fantastic Four, despite some fans demanding they hire white actors.

For now the Black Panther rumors are just that:

Chadwick Boseman is going to take on the role of T’Challa, prince of Wakanda, who must rise to take the mantle of the Black Panther after his father, the king, is treacherously killed.

Ava and Marvel have not address the rumors and until they do (or don’t) we’ll have to assume it’s false.
