Rocking the gospel world with her  newly anticipated sophomore album “Vintage Worship”; Grammy, Stellar and Dove award nominee, Anita Wilson,  is more excited than ever for its release on June 24th. While creating the album “Vintage Worship,” Wilson described the process of making this album  as a blessing; and in her very own words ” a musical portrait of all my musical influences to what I listened too and was inspired by growing up.” Some of those influences in the album, included music from Anita’s favorite era, 70’s,80’s and 90’s; which you will recognize has a soul, r&b, hip hop  and gospel energy feel too it.

Humbled, grateful and thankful for where her career has gone,  Anita was proud to tell JH,  that she always takes the time to praise god at any giving time; as well as listening to other gospel singers for her own personal praising and worshiping time when she’s’ out on the road. As Anita continued to show her humbleness, throughout the interview, Wilson also took the time to express that , “I want to inspire many of my fans, people in church and non-church goers, the same way , because I want my music to be an inspiration, uplifting and most importantly make people feel good.”

To help Anita bring that feeling into her music, Wilson collaborated with Rick Robinson her “partner in crime,” as Anita expressed jokingly, to put the album together. Wilson says, ” Rick was the perfect producer, because he knows my voice, style and it felt natural to work with him again after the first album “Worship Soul”. In addition, to the collaboration with Rick, Anita Wilson, also has taken the time to let her fans in her world, by  creating a four part webisode series documenting the making of the album “Vintage Worship”.

One of the last few questions, that JH asked Anita before we wrapped up  the interview, that made her kindness and genuine personality stand out more, was when she was asked, when she hears the name Anita Wilson , what comes to mind? Wilson ended with, “Authentic and relatable” and that she is.
