Kamala Harris made history today by becoming the first African American woman to be sworn in as the senator of California.  According to ABC 7:

 “Harris, who was the state’s attorney general, is the daughter of immigrants from India and Jamaica. In addition to becoming California’s first African-American senator, she is also the first Indian-American, the first biracial woman and the second African-American to serve in the U.S. Senate.”

While Kamala’s sister share’s the joy of her sister being sworn in via her Twitter  page, Kamale  will go down in history as the first African-Indian American to serve in office !
